Accomplished to Fight Childhood Hunger by The Food Drive Kids Since 2013
The Food Drive Kids started off by well, doing food drives. We still continue this tradition as a way to fight childhood hunger. We also strive to give youth and their families a chance to volunteer in the fight against childhood hunger, and to educate the community about childhood hunger. Food drives represent emergency hunger relief efforts that provide food to those in immediate need. These programs are extremely important.
After several years of food drives and speaking about the challenges of fighting childhood hunger our friends at The Interfaith Food Shuttle explained that there is a need for sustainable hunger relief efforts as well. These programs strive to build an ongoing way to provide food for struggling families and include things like community gardens. Since them we have worked to provide hunger relief that is both Emergent and Sustainable. These programs not only offer opportunities for feeding hungry kids, but the educate and raise awareness in the community of the need to fight childhood hunger.
