The Food Drive Kids in conjunction with the Occoneechee Council of the Boy Scouts of America Day of Service will be working with The Interfaith Food Shuttle to sponsor the building of a community garden and outdoor classroom at Eastway Elementary School in Durham, NC. Eastway has a 99% rate of children receiving free and reduced lunch, many of whom lack access to sources of fresh fruits and vegetables. This garden will be operated by the students and the students will be the beneficiaries of the crops produced.
